On the 23rd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, let’s remember the bravery of our soldiers who sacrificed their lives. “Kargil Vijay Diwas” is observed by department of Political Science on July 26 2022, in the memory of soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Kargil War.

On behalf of Dept. of Cultural Activities on 14/07/2022 various competitions were organized i.e. bridal makeup, hairstyle and nail art. There was a good response from students – 27 students participated in hairstyle, 26 participated in nail art & 8 students participated in bridal makeup. The best three in each category were awarded with cash prizes.

Women’s Association & YRC .
Women’s Welfare Association and YRC jointly organized a programme on Women’s Health & Menstruation on 12/07/2022.
Dr. Asavari Sant – a well-known pathologist of the town was the resource person. Madam spoke on issues related to menstruation. There was an interaction session & doubts raised by students were clarified. More than 100 girl students attended the programme.

Arts Association.
The Arts Association of the college organized Elocution Competition on 11/07/2022 in Hall No 8. The students spoke in four languages i.e. English, Hindi, Marathi & Kannada on the given topics. There were 12 participants from BA,Bcom & B.sc and the best four participants were awarded with prizes.

International Yoga Day Celebration
The designated Units of the College i.e. NSS, NCC & Dept. of Sports celebrated 8th International Yoga Day at open air theatre.Yogapith Patanjali’s Yoga expert Shri. Badwankar & team performed Yogic Exercises and guided the participants. More than 200 students participated in the event.

Patil, Officer, Women’s Welfare Association, welcomed the gathering. Guest speaker Adv. Sandhya Jadhav elucidated laws made for women & their various rights. Principal Dr. S.N. Patil presided over the function. The theme of 2022 International Women’s Day is “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”.

Department of Physical Education & Sports and Youth Red Cross Wing of Bhaurao Kakatkar College, Belgaum organized two days Yoga and fitness activities for the students of B.A, B.Com and B.Sc I semester on 21th Jan 2022 & 24th Jan 2022 in the College. Patanjali Yogpith, Belgaum Branch’s Shri. Kiran Mannolkar, Shri. Deepak Pansare and other yoga trainers were participated to guide the students. The team explained the importance of Surya Namaskar and practice of yoga in our life. Dr. S. N. Patil, Principal encouraged and motivated the students. More than 400 students from were participated for Suryanamaskar and Yoga activities. Shri. S.K.Patil, Director, Dept. of Physical Education and Sports and Shri. National Youth Day also known as ‘Yuva Diwas’, is celebrated in the college by its NSS Units to honour Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary i.e. January 12. National Youth Day 2022 marks the 25th edition of the special celebration that marks the importance of youth in the development of a country. The theme for National Youth Day 2022 is “It’s all in the mind,” a key teaching of Swami Vivekananda.

In his welcome address Principal Dr. S. N. Patil shed light on the Institution’s vision i.e. “Emancipation of Women & Downtrodden through Education” & its efforts towards fulfilling it. The guest speaker Prof. S. B. Tate, Assistant Professor, Dept of Hindi, delivered a lecturer on “Savitribai Phule ji ka Yogadan”.
