SADBHAVANA DIWAS
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit observed Sadbhavana Diwas (Harmony Day) on 20-08-2026, to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The primary objective of the event was to promote national integration, peace, affection, and communal harmony among citizens of all religions, languages, and regions, while encouraging the shun of violence.

Patriotic Group Singing Competition

The students of Bhaurao Kakatkar College brought honour to the institution by securing third prize in the 21st Intercollegiate Patriotic Group Singing Competition. The competition was held on 15 August 2026 and was organised by Sagar College of Education (B.Ed.). The competition aimed to foster communal harmony, national integration, and patriotic spirit among college students. Through their group performance, the participating students displayed discipline, coordination, musical talent, and a deep sense of love for the nation.

Celebrated 80th Independece Day . On this occasion Y. S. Kesarkar sir Hoisted the Flag. All teaching & Non teaching staff , students of all designated units were present for the ceremony.

Aadhar Jyoti Scholarship
The Aadhar Jyoti Scholarship was distributed by Dr. Sonali Salunkhe, Student Welfare Officer, providing encouragement and support to deserving students. The presidential remarks were delivered by Shri Subhash Oulkar, Director, DMS Mandal, Belgaum. He acknowledged the efforts of the students, teachers, parents, alumni, and college administration. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Deelip M. Wadekar.Miss Arati Goral served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Felicitation of College Toppers and Teacher–Parents Meet
The programme was organised by the College Alumni Association with the objective of recognizing academic excellence and strengthening cooperation among the college, parents, teachers, alumni, and students.
The programme began with a welcome speech by Dr. M. V. Shinde, Principal of B. K. College, Belgaum. The formal welcome created a respectful and encouraging atmosphere for the proceedings. The invited speakers then addressed the gathering on the important role of college alumni and parents in supporting students’ academic and personal development. The session featured Shri Anand Pawar, alumnus and representative of the Maharashtra Police Department, and Miss Shivani Gaikwad, Assistant Manager at Bharati Airtel Ltd. Their participation highlighted the value of alumni guidance and parental involvement in the progress of students.

HarGharTiranga Campaign
Our college NCC Cadets conducted Tiranga Rally at Club Road Chennamma Circle to create awareness & significance of the National Flag and the importance of respecting and proudly displaying the Tiranga.Around 80 cadets encouraged the public to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and spread the message of patriotism, national unity and pride in our nation.
Also, Cleanliness Drive was conducted at Club Road Belgavi.

Celebration of Geneva Convention Day and International Youth Day
The Geneva Convention Day and International Youth Day is observed in the college on 12-08-2026. The special lecture was jointly organised by Youth Red Cross Unit and NSS Unit of college. Shri. Praveen Hiremath, Life Coach and Corporate Trainer, Executive Committee Member of Indian Red Cross Society Belagavi Branch was the Chief Guest. Dr.M.V.Shinde, Principal, presided over the function. Shri. D.M.Wadekar, YRC Programme Officer welcomed and introduced the Chief Guest. Shri. S.B.Tate, NSS Programme Officer proposed the vote of thanks and Smt.Kavita Patil did the MoC. Praveen Hiremath Sir reveals the importance of Geneva Convention and Red Cross in protecting humanity. 120 volunteers of both units were present during the programme.

Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan- Special Awareness Talk and Pledge
A Special Awareness Talk & Pledge under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug free Pledge)-Mega Campaign, jointly organised by Youth Red Cross Unit and NSS Unit of the College. B.K.Sadhana madam and Basavaraj Athani Sir from Brahma Kumaris and Medical Wing Belagavi guided the students. Drug Free Pledge has taken during the program. Shri. S.B.Tate, NSS Unit and Shri. Deelip Wadekar, Programme office YRC Unit have taken efforts to organise the programme.

“ NCC Unit Cadets Enrollment 2026-27”
NCC Unit conducted enrollment rally on 4-8-26 in College campus. 26 KAR Battalion PI Staffs were present for the enrollment. They conducted various tests during the enrollment rally. The test involved Physical Examination, General knowledge Test, Interview & Running. More than 300 students participated during the enrollment rally. 26 KAR Battalion CO Col. Sunil Dagar & SM Kallappa Patil visited the rally & appreciated the College.

On the auspicious occasion of Premchand Jayanti , the college organized an Essay Writing, Speech, and Poem Recitation Competition. Health Awareness Programme And Research Survey On Cervical Cancer

The Youth Red Cross Wing of the College, in collaboration with KLES Centenary Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi organized a Health Awareness Programme and Research Survey on Cervical Cancer for undergraduate girl students on 30-07-2026. A team of Nursing Sciences conducted an informative awareness session on cervical cancer and carried out a research survey to assess students’ awareness. The programme witnessed the active participation of 70 girl students.

Awareness Drive On The Special Intensive Revision (SIR)
Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of D. M. S. Mandal’s B. K. College, Belgaum, organized an awareness drive on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls under the aegis of its Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) on 29-7-2026. The campaign aimed to educate students about voter registration, correction of entries, and the importance of maintaining an accurate, error-free electoral roll to strengthen democratic processes.

The programme aimed to acquaint incoming students with the spirit, history, objectives, and community impact of the NSS, encouraging active participation in nation-building and community welfare.

Placement cell, Bhaurao Kakatka College, Belgaum organised KAUSHAL ABHIYAN PHASE – II, Skillplus Program orientation on 28-07-2026. On this occasion Dr. M. V. Shinde, Principal, Bhaurao Kakatka College, Belgaum welcomed the gathering, Mr. Raghavendra Pawar, Regional Manager Deshpande Skilling, Hubli and Mr. Mahaling Mayannavar, Partnership Manager, Deshpande Skilling, Hubli, Introduced the program, shared valuable inputs and had interaction with gathering.

Career Awareness Programme
Career Awareness Programme on Company Secretary Couse was organised on 23 rd July 2026 at 9.30 am in Hall No 4 for BCom first semester students. Dattanand Raikar Company Secretary and Chairman of Belgaum Chapter of ICSI made the presentation on Career Guidance for CS course. About 120 students participated. Sushma Dodamani office bearer of ICSI distributed the guidance material to students.

An orientation program was organised for B. A., B. Com., B.Sc., first year students on 18th July 2026. Principal Dr. M. V. Shinde welcomed the gathering. Dr. Amit Chingli, presented a PPT and informed students how the college is an exceptional institute for higher education. Smt. Neeta Patil, Head, Dept. of Hindi proposed vote of thanks. After the formal program cultural events and games were arranged for students.
