“Valedictory Function”
The seminars concluded with a valedictory function, presided over by Shri. P. P. Belgaonkar, Joint Secretary, Dakshin Maharashtra Shikshan Mandal, Belgaum. The function marked the successful conclusion of the seminar, which enriched participants with valuable knowledge and perspectives on the future of commerce, management, and economics And which provided a significant platform for intellectual discourse on Indian Knowledge Systems and their contemporary applications. The members of the Organizing Committee were taken untired efforts to make this events successful.
“Technical sessions of Emerging Trends in Commerce, Management and Economics”
Technical Session – I was led by Dr. B. S. Navi, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Commerce, Rani Channamma University, Belgavi, who delved into various emerging trends in commerce, Management & Economics.
Technical Session – II comprised paper presentations by a diverse group of scholars, fostering a dynamic exchange of research and ideas. The session was chaired by Dr. Y. C. Kelageri, Assistant Professor in Commerce, GFGC Sindagi.
“Technical sessions of Bridging the Past and Future: Indian Knowledge Systems in Contemporary Society”
Technical Session – I featured a compelling presentation by Dr. Nandkumar More, Professor in Marathi, Department of Marathi, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, who shared his expertise on the subject.
Technical Session – II was dedicated to paper presentations by various research scholars, faculties fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and research findings. The session was ably chaired by Dr. R. M. Marathe, former Head, Department of Kannada, Bhaurao Kakatkar College, Belgaum.

The seminars were an initiative by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) , organized by the Department of Humanities and Department of Commerce respectively brought together distinguished academicians and scholars to deliberate on the relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems in the modern era and provided a platform for insightful discussions on emerging trends and developments in these crucial fields.
The inaugural session commenced with a warm welcome address by the esteemed Principal, Dr. M. V. Shinde. The highlight of the inaugural ceremony was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Pratibha Mudaliar, Former Chairperson, Department of Hindi, Mysore University, Karnataka and Dr. Vijay Kakade, a senior Economist and former Chairman of the Department of Economics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
Shri. Vikram Patil, Secretary, Dakshin Maharashtra Shikshan Mandal, Belgaum, presided over the inaugural function, offering his presidential remarks and emphasizing the importance of such academic endeavors. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri. S. B. Tate.

“Valedictory Ceremony”
The seminar concluded with a Valedictory Session at 3:30 PM. Dr. P. N Basargi delivered the welcome address, Shri. Madan Patil introduces the chief guest. Dr. S. H. Patil, Chairman of the Department of Political Science at RPD College, served as the Chief Guest and he explored the ideas on how the periodic evolution was growing in AI and how AI influencing on Social science studies. Shri. P. P. Belgaonkar, Joint-Secretary of D.M.S. Mandal, delivered the valedictory address, followed by the distribution of certificates to the participants. The principal Dr. M. V shinde delivered the presidential address. Shri. Prasad Wadekar expresses the gratitude, Master of ceremony done by Smt. T.M. Chougule.

“Academic Sessions and Paper Presentation”
The technical proceedings were divided into two comprehensive sessions, chaired by Dr. Ravi S. Dalawai with Dr. Sumanth S. Hiremath serves as the resource person.
Technical Session I (Offline) : Included 30 paper presentations covering diverse topics such as AI in tourism, digital sovereignty, and the role of indigenous wisdom in climate policy.
Technical Session II (Online): Featured 18 presentations focusing on digital inclusion for human, the evolution of teaching through chat bots, and AI’s role in electoral reforms. A wide array of themes were explored, including History and Algorithmic Memory, AI in Economics, Governance and Power, and the Sociological implications of AI on rural society and human rights.

“National Seminar on Explores Social Sciences in the Age of AI”
National Seminar at Bhaurao Kakatkar College Explores Social Sciences in the Age of AI, April. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Social Science Club of Bhaurao Kakatkar College successfully hosted a one-day National Seminar today titled “Social Sciences in the Age of AI: History, Policy, and Society”. The event brought together academicians, research scholars, and students to discuss the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on human structures and research methodologies. A formal welcome address by the Principal, Dr. M. V. Shinde. Dr. M. P. Shegunashi introduces the Key speaker, session was inaugurated by the dignitaries of the dias, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kakade, former Head and Senior Economist at Shivaji University, Kolhapur, delivered the keynote address, providing deep insights into the intersection of technology and social sciences. The session was presided over by Shri. Vikram Patil, Secretary of D.M.S. Mandal, Belgaum, IQAC coordinator Dr. M. S. Patil delivered the vote of thanks, master of ceremony done by Shri Shubham Chavan.

“Dr. Babasaheb’s Door-to-Door Campaign”
On the occasion of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s Jayanti, a special lecture was organized as part of the “Dr. Babasaheb’s Door-to-Door Campaign”. The event was a collaborative effort between Bhaurao Kakatkar College, Belgaum, Rani Channamma University, Belagavi and the National Service Scheme Unit. On 13-04-2026 at 10:30 AM. The central theme of the lecture was “Today’s Social System and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar”. The session aimed to bridge the gap between historical constitutional ideals and the contemporary social landscape of India. The “Special Lecture” served as a platform for intellectual discourse regarding the relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s teachings in the 21st century. By involving the NSS Cell and the Ambedkar Chair of Studies, the organizers emphasized the practical application of social justice and community service. Shri. Indrajit More provided insights into how Dr. Ambedkar’s vision continues to influence and challenge the existing social structures.

“Study Visit to ICMR-NITM”
Department of Biotechnology conducted a study visit to ICMR-NITM on 8th April 2026 for B.Sc II & VI Semester students. Students observed the various sections of research centre which comprised of Microbiology laboratory, Cell culture laboratory, Sterilization room, Chromatography equipments, Medicinal pants museum, Pharmacology laboratory and various other instruments used in Biotechnology. The staff at ICMR-NIMT briefed the students about the research centre. There were 21 students and they were guided by Prof. Amruta Sane.

“Blood Donation Camp on the Eve of World Health Day”
The Youth Red Cross Wing, NCC, NSS, and Ranger & Rover Units of the college, in collaboration with MyBlood Charitable Blood Center of Mahesh Foundation, Belagavi, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 07-04-2026 in the college. This camp is the true depiction of this year theme of World Health Day-2026 “Together for health- Stand with Science”.Dr. M.V. Shinde, Principal, encouraged students and staff to volunteer for blood donation. Dr. Fazal Javali, Medical Officer at Mahesh Foundation, emphasized the importance of blood donation in saving lives.Shri S.K. Patil Dr. Mallikarjun Shegunashi, Shri S.B. Tate,Shri Y.R. Mutagekar,Smt V.P. Shinde ,Shri Deelip Wadekar,Smt Kavita Patil made significant efforts to organize the camp successfully. A total of 85 volunteers registered for blood donation with great enthusiasm, out of which 31 units of blood were successfully collected and donated to the MyBlood Charitable Blood Center of Mahesh Foundation, Belagavi a reputed NGO serving the needy, socially deprived, backward, and underprivileged sections of society.

“Skill Enhancement Programme”
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Bhaurao Kakatkar College organized a Skill Enhancement Programme themed “Empowering Youth, Transforming Communities”. The Resource Person for the event was Dr. Kanakappa Pujar, the NSS Coordinator from Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. He addressed the students on the importance of skill development and community transformation.

“Women and Children Safety Awareness Programme (Akka Pade)”
The Youth Red Cross Wing and NSS Unit of the college, in collaboration with the Department of Police, Belagavi, organized a Women and Children Safety Awareness Programme for BA, B.Com, and B.Sc students under the initiative “Akka Pade.” Smt. Renuka Kadalagi (Hawaldar) and Smt. Swapna Gondhali (Home Guard) from the Women Police Station, Belagavi, interacted with the students and provided valuable insights into the Akka Pade initiative. The programme was conducted in the presence of Programme Officers Shri. Deelip Wadekar, Shri. S. B. Tate, and Dr. M. P. Shegunashi, along with other faculty members. More than 200 students actively participated in the session. Dr. M. V. Shinde, Principal appreciated the efforts of the Police Department and expressed gratitude for creating awareness about women and children’s safety among students.

Special Residential Camp organized by the NSS Unit of D. M. S. Mandal’s B. K. College, Belgaum, concluded on March 16, 2026, at Shantai Vrudhashram, Bamanwadi. The final day served as a formal closing of the program themed “Youth for My India”.

“Rally on Anti-drug & Anti-tobacco Campaign”
The NSS Special Camp commenced with a high-energy Rally on Anti-drug & Anti-tobacco Campaign.
•Objective: To sensitize the local community about the physiological and social hazards of substance abuse.
•Execution: NSS volunteers marched through the village streets carrying placards and shouting slogans to discourage the use of tobacco and narcotics. The rally successfully engaged local youth and elders, sparking vital conversations about addiction recovery and prevention.

“National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit Special Residential camp”
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit College officially launched its 7-Day Special Residential Camp at “Shantai Vrudhashram, Bamanwadi”. The camp, themed “Youth for My India”, was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. M. S. Patil, IQAC Coordinator, B. K. College, Belgaum, in the presence of the College Principal, Dr. M. V. Shinde, and local representatives.

“Career Awareness Programme on “Bridging Academia and Industry: Understanding Corporate Work Culture ”
Youth Red Cross Wing of the college organised the Career Awareness Programme cum interaction session on “Bridging Academia and Industry: Understanding Corporate Work Culture” on 28-03-2026. Mr. Amit Kumar Gupta, The Founder Member of IntelliCore Consulting Group Dubai, a Global IT Service Provider, the Corporate Trainer, a successful Entrepreneur, Alumni of IIT Madras interacted and enlightened the students about Corporate Work Culture and strategy for career building. Mr. Rohit K. Alumni of our college also guided and motivated the students by keeping his own career journey from college to Senior HR Position in TCS, Bangalore. Both Resource Persons were worked more than 15 years in Wipro Company and conducted 50+ campus interviews across the nation before they are joing current position. Shri. Deelip Wadekar, YRC Program officer cordinated the program. More than 150 students of B.Com IV, VI and B.B.A VI semester students were attended the program.

Youth Red Cross and NSS Unit of our college arranged the blood donation 🩸 awareness program on 27.03.2026. Through this awareness program, the team of doctor and supporting Staff of Mahesh Foundation, Belagavi, the well-known NGO visited every classes and interacted with the students about the volunteering blood donation. Students doubts and questions are answered and clarified during the program.

The Career Awareness Programme on “Exploring German Language and Global Career Opportunities” jointly organised by Youth Red Cross Wing and N.S.S Unit of the college on 25-03-2026. Mr. Kedarnath Moghe, German Language Trainer/Teacher shared inputs on the importance and scope of German Language and Global Career Opportunities to students of BA.B.Com and B.Sc II Semester. “Medical Check-Up Camp”
The Youth Red Cross Wing jointly with the Dept.of Physical Education organised the Medical Check-Up Camp in the college on 24-03-2026. The enthusiastic team of 8 members comprising the doctors and supporting staff of Bhartesh Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Belagavi interacted and counselled the students and staff. Their commitment to promoting health awareness and preventive care has created a positive impact within the institution. More than 200 Students of BA, B.Com and B.Sc were benefitted through the proper medication and advice from the team. Dr. M.V.Shinde, the Principal appreciated the Medical Check-Up Team. Smt. A.S.Patil, the Head, Cultural Dept. Shri. S.K.Patil, the Physical Instructor, Shri. D.M.Wadekar, The Youth Red Cross Wing Program officer, Smt.K.M.Patil, YRC Program officer, Student Council members and Non teaching staff have taken initiatives for organising this camp.

“Study Visit to Department of Criminology and Forensic science”
Department of Zoology conducted Study Visit to Department of Criminology and Forensic science as a part of their Curriculum. There were 21 students and 2 staff members. They were given brief information about DNA fingerprinting, criminal behaviour, and the justice system, covering topics like forensic science, institutions in India, psychology, law, and victimology and it’s scope.
They were guided by Dr.Nandini Devarmani, Mrs.M.Nibandhe and Miss N.R.Thabbe.

“International Women’s Day”
A food festival was organised by the Women’s Welfare Association on 07/03/2026 on the occasion of International Women’s Day. This year’s theme of the food festival was “A Feast for Her : Ready-to-eat Food.” International Women’s Day is a reminder that strength deserves nourishment. The spirit of women thrives when supported by balanced, easy meals, thoughtful food ideas, and stress-free hosting. 15 food stalls were installed in the college campus by 50 students and sold various delicious and healthy dishes.

The NSS and Youth Red Cross Unit of the College observed the National Youth Day on 12th January 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of India’s greatest spiritual leaders and youth icons. The day highlights the role of youth in nation-building and promotes values such as leadership, discipline, patriotism, and social responsibility. “SHOURYA-2025”
SHOURYA-2025 a Three Day Intercollegiate Cultural Fest was organized on 27, 28 and 29 November 2025. It was inaugurated at the hands of Shri. Akash Chougule (IRS). Shri. Vikram Patil (secretary DMS mandal’s), Prin.Dr.M. V. Shinde ,Prin. A. V. Patil , Prin. Dr. P. L. Patil And Prof. Anita Patil were present on dias. Total 10 competitions were conducted and 350 students participated in the same.

“ Guest Lecture on World Diabetes Day”
On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the Departments of Biotechnology and Zoology organized a guest lecture on Diabetes Mellitus, delivered by Dr. Kshipra D. Dixit.The program commenced with a warm welcome by Principal Dr. M. V. Shinde. Dr. Dixit then addressed the gathering, elaborating on the types, symptoms, and associated risks of Diabetes Mellitus in an insightful session. Random blood sugar testing was conducted for participants. The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 70+ students and staff members, contributing to its success. Mrs. Amruta Sane , Mrs. Mayura Nibandhe and other staff members were present for the function.

The Department of Kannada with the collaboration of Brasavaraj Kattimani Pratishthan, Belgaum organised a story telling competition on 11/10/2025. 24 students participated in the competition and made the programme successful. The judges of the competition were Shri. S.B.Tate ( Department of Hindi), Dr. P. N. Basargi (Department of Sociology), Dr. M. P. Shegunshi.
