“Observation of National Youth Day “
The NSS and Youth Red Cross Unit of the College observed the National Youth Day on 12th January 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of India’s greatest spiritual leaders and youth icons. The day highlights the role of youth in nation-building and promotes values such as leadership, discipline, patriotism, and social responsibility. Principal, Staff and volunteers attended the program.

“SHOURYA-2025”
SHOURYA-2025 a Three Day Intercollegiate Cultural Fest was organized on 27, 28 and 29 November 2025. It was inaugurated at the hands of Shri. Akash Chougule (IRS). Shri. Vikram Patil (secretary DMS mandal’s), Prin.Dr.M. V. Shinde ,Prin. A. V. Patil , Prin. Dr. P. L. Patil And Prof. Anita Patil were present on dias. Total 10 competitions were conducted and 350 students participated in the same.

“CONSTITUTION DAY”
The NSS Unit and department of political science of the college was celebrated Constitution Day, on 26 November 2025, to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949. The programme aimed at promoting constitutional values among students and spreading awareness about the significance of the Constitution in nation-building.

The Botany department organised a nursery visit on 22.11.2025 for B. Sc V th sem students to Nisarga Nursery in Sulaga, Belagavi ditrict, to observe various plants like ornamental and medicinal species and to learn nursery techniques and management under the guidance of prof. R. B. Hujaratti and Prof. Akshata Nayak.

“ RCU E-Vidya Abhiyana”
Department of commerce and IQAC in collaboration with Rani Channamma University Belagavi organised special guest lecture on RCU e-Vidya portal as a part of RCU e-Vidya Abhiyana initiative on 19th November,2025. “ Guest Lecture on World Diabetes Day”
On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the Departments of Biotechnology and Zoology organized a guest lecture on Diabetes Mellitus, delivered by Dr. Kshipra D. Dixit.The program commenced with a warm welcome by Principal Dr. M. V. Shinde. Dr. Dixit then addressed the gathering, elaborating on the types, symptoms, and associated risks of Diabetes Mellitus in an insightful session. Random blood sugar testing was conducted for participants. The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 70+ students and staff members, contributing to its success. Mrs. Amruta Sane , Mrs. Mayura Nibandhe and other staff members were present for the function.

The NSS Unit of the College celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on 31st October 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, who played a pivotal role in unifying the nation. the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge was administered to all faculty members, and students. Participants solemnly took the pledge to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity, and security of the nation.

The NSS Unit of the College organized a special lecture on 30-10-2025 on the topic “Strength in Unity: Patel’s Message for Today’s Youth” to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The lecture aimed to highlight Patel’s invaluable contribution to the integration of India and his vision for a united and strong nation. Shri. S. B. Tate , spoke about the significance of celebrating the legacy of Sardar Patel in contemporary times. Dr. M. S. Patil, presented an insightful lecture on Patel’s leadership during India’s post-independence period, emphasizing his role in integrating more than 560 princely states into the Indian Union.

Inaugural Function for three significant initiatives designed to enrich student development: the Certificate Course in Yoga, the Certificate Course in Indian Political System and Governance, and the Social Science Club. Department of Zoology of B.K.College,Belgaum conducted study visit to Bondla Wildlife sanctuary,North Goa as a part of their curriculum. They also visited ICAR-GOA. There were 18 students of B.Sc 1st semester.They studied about various Fauna and Flora. They got guidance from Mr.Rahul Kulkarni (ICAR-GOA) and Mrs.M.Nibandhe.

“Story Telling Competition”
The Department of Kannada with the collaboration of Brasavaraj Kattimani Pratishthan, Belgaum organised a story telling competition on 11/10/2025. 24 students participated in the competition and made the programme successful. The judges of the competition were Shri. S.B.Tate ( Department of Hindi), Dr. P. N. Basargi (Department of Sociology), Dr. M. P. Shegunshi. The first three winners were provided with certificates and books by the Basavaraj Kattimani Pratishthan, Belgaum. Dr. M. V. The College has Observed and celebrated the Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti on 7th October 2025. He is revered as the Adi Kavi or First Poet of Sanskrit literature for authoring the epic Ramayana. Department of Commerce, DMSM’s, Bhaurao Kakatkar College, Belgaum, and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Study Chair Rani Chennamma University, Belgaum jointly organised special lecture on “EMPOWERING COMMERCE AND FINANCE GRADUATES FOR THE FUTURE” on 02nd August, 2025. Were Dr. Arpana Bhat, Lead Institution partnership, Mentor for Kids, Bangalore was the resource person, Prof. B. S. Navi Director Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Study Chair, Rani Channamma University was the chief guest, Dr. M. V. Shinde, Principal, Bhaurao Kakatkar College, Belgaum Presides over the Function and Dr.M. S. Patil, Head Department of Commerce welcomed the audience & introduced the dignitaries on the dais. 183 students of B.Com were present.

D.M.S. Mandal’s Bhaurao Kakatkar College in Belgaum hosted a two-day BOOK Exhibition on August 12th and 13th, 2025, to commemorate Librarian’s Day. The event pays tribute to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, a pioneer in Indian library science, and is organized by the college’s Department of Library.
