1. VIDYA POSHAK “MATCHING GRANT SCHEME SCHOLARSHIP

Programme Goal : An initiative to support the underprivileged bright students to pursue higher education leading to employability.

Bhaurao Kakatkar College has signed a MOU with Vidya Poshak Belgaum. towards Matching Grant Scheme, scholarship. Vidya Poshak is a registered Citizen sector organisation ( NGO) working towards empowering the impoverished, meritorious student community to persue their employability through skill enhancement. Through Matching Grant Scheme it provides an Opportunity to collaborate our college with Vidya Poshak. Under this Scheme, economically backward and meritorous students will be provided financial support jointly by our college & vidya Poshak (50 : 50 partnership). In addition VP will provide employment rediness training  for the students selected under this scheme.

Distribution of financial assistance function was held on sunday the 25th september 2016 in Bharatesh Homeopathic College, near Fort Belgaum . Details of Financial Assistance.

Activities of 2017-18

HOME VISIT SCHEME

The activities of SWO Unit started with Home Visit Scheme. Under this Scheme 10 Students each from B A ,B Com & B Sc I were selected at the hands of students by lottery method.

Prin. Dr S N Patil and the Staff members visited the homes of students, overall response was delightful students were given books sweets & Calculators This year also 30 students were benefited out of this scheme. Following are beneficiaries of the Scheme :

ANAND SHIKSHAN NIDHI

The prestigious Oulkar family of Belgaum has started this AnandShikshanNidhi to help Economically poor, needy and Meritorious students of BhauraoKakatkar college Belgaum.TheOulkar family has donated more than Rs.6,00,000/- to DMS Mandal & out of the interest recieved from the deposit, 10 or more students will be awarded a scholarship of Rs 5000/- each every year as a scholarship. One student each from Part I,II,III classes of B.A,B. Com and B. Sc are selected along with one student of all round sports personality.

The scholarship was distributed during award ceremony function on Saturday the 25th August 2018 at the hands of Shri R Y Patil, Gen Manager Zuari Industry Goa ,Hon.Secretary Shri Subhash L oulkar and other Dignitaries.

SPECIAL ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE INCENTIVES SCHOLARSHIP

In order to bring about the competitiveness among the students college has started this new scheme for the students who registers academic growth in percentage.If a student scores 7% or more marks in Sem-I,Sem-III or Sem-V exam as compared to previous semester will be given Rs.500/-, scores 10% or more will be given Rs.1000/-& 15% or more will be given Rs.2000/-as academic incentive.

And if a student secures a rank to the University will be given Rs.5555/-

There are 42 students who scored 7% or more marks,32 students who scored 10% or more and 12 students who scored 15% or more marks. In all Rs.77,000/- were distributed in the present year.

“VIDYA POSHAK MATCHING GRANT SCHEME” SCHOLARSHIP

Under this scheme 50% of the college fee is paid by college & 50% by Vidya Poshak

3. ANAND SHIKSHAN NIDHI

Objective of the Scheme :To extend financial support to the students who have lost father or-

mother both the parents.

Large number of students come to our college belong to economically challenged and are from rural area. Keeping in view this, our principal thought of this new scheme to help these weaker sections of the society be given some financial and moral support. This year 48 students have been helped by giving Rs.91,000/-.
